VALENTINE 10K 17/02/2019

38 Jaguars arrived at Easton &Otley College for the Valentines 10k on Sunday 17th February.  After picture perfect conditions 10 came away with personal bests and there was some more bling for the trophy cabinet too.
The race itself was superbly marshaled and managed by the Norfolk Gazelles, who manged to not only get everyone parked and on the start line on time, there wasn’t even a queue for the ladies loo by the time we were ready for the off.
The courses itself is fair to be described as undulating, it even starts on a hill (what from here on in we shall be calling an upwards down bit!)
Heading up (see that word again) and out of the college along some roads to then find yourself out in beautiful countryside when only minutes beforehand you were on the edge of a thriving city is just one of many amazing reasons to run in Norwich.  You wind your way around some more upwards (that word again!) country lane before finally heading up get another hill back towards the college.  Knowing that the end is soon to be in sight normally spurs a sprint in me, however on yet another upwards flat section that seemed to go forever I had nothing left to give.
The end did eventually come and came with a very welcome banana and great medal, for the 10th running of the valentines 10k.
Being a Sportlink Grand Prix series race there was always going to be a lot of interest in this race as well as a lot of club vests, makes the photos look truly epic.  Also means that there is always a lot of good racing going on, once you get in with the people you know are about your pace there is a lot of muttering coming from all directions, lots of fun!
Great run in a great place (even with all of the hills!) with lots of people achieving great things.  Bring on the next one!
