THE LAST BROADLAND 1/2 MARATHON :'(
Broadland Half 2018 – take two – 4-11-18 This was postponed due to snow in March and what a contrast the weather was, thankfully, with a lovely mild autumn day. In total 27 Jaguars took part and throughout the course marshalls and spectators could be heard saying ‘another Jag!’ showing the orange army was making its presence known. It wasn’t just in numbers though that we made an impression with Emma Blake storming home to take First place in the Lady’s race, a PB, as well as a new age group and club record. Neil Button came a fantastic second in his age group and Vicky Tovell a smashing third in age group. We took team prizes for the senior lady’s with Bex Pountain, Emma Wilcox and Charlotte Reed as well as the Vet lady’s with Emma Blake, Vicky Tovell and Ruth Pilch. The men also did well winning the senior men’s team prize with Andy Mulligan, Lee Emmet and Scott Scruball.
It was a good day for PBs for Jack Stuttle, also first Jag home, Lee Emmett, Vicky Tovell, Ruth Pilch, Julian Smith and Karen Evans. The Road Runner’s did a great job in friendly marshalling and sorting out a technical hitch so the women’s team prizes could be confirmed. This was the last time this course will be used with sadness from those who love it’s undulating nature.
