(Great Yarmouth) East Coast 10K
Sixteen Jags flocked to the seaside on a warm(ish!) albeit blustery autumn morning. There were some excellent running on display with The Jags seemingly wiping the floor with the age category cash prizes. First Jag home was Sze-Ming Cheung in 38:35 who also bagged £20 2nd prize in the male 40-44 category. Ellie Bye isn’t a stranger to winning and also walked away with 2nd prize in the senior female category in a time of 44:38
Roy Owen, in his last ever race, bowed out in style with 1st prize in the male 65+ category with a time of 50:44. A job well done Roy – now enjoy running and cycling for the health and social benefits it brings!
Not content with the female 35-39 10k record recently acquired, Alexandra Bland continued her fine form running a time of 46:47 and walking away with a purple note and 2nd place in her age category. In the female 55-59 age category, Jackie Bye took 1st prize (£30) in a diamond standard winning time of 50:12.
In the Club team prizes, Sze-Ming Cheung, Mel Porter and Rod Bye picked up 3rd place in the veteran male category. Not to be outdone, Ellie Bye, Alexandra Bland and Lisa Symon also gained 3rd prize in the senior female category.
In the individual results, Jackie Bye continues to impress with her “diamond” running ability while Lisa Symon and Ben Dennington both earned new PBs for their gutsy running. Well done to Alicia Lacey and Sharn Ponsford for completing their first 10K race for the Club.
