Steve Ely was the sole Jaguar to brave the hottest day of the year against some very stiff competition and completed the race in a silver standard time of 19:25. Afterwards, race director Granville Courtnell from City of Norwich AC praised the efforts of the runners in the sweltering heat. “The conditions today were the toughest we’ve ever had for this race so full credit to everyone who completed the course” Photos Full Results

Wymondham Midsummer 10
June 13th, 2010Another great days results for the club saw Colin Robilliard, Jon Howe and Steve Niblett take first place in the men’s vet team prize, whilst Colin and Steve took first place in their individual categories. In finishing 7th over all Colin also took the club record for the distance. Paul Groves, Becky Durant and Jo West continued their recent improvements, all recording personal best times and Mike King had his usual excellent run. Richard Collyer recorded a decent time despite blisters and suffering the after effects of his recent car crash. This race was well organised, friendly and took place on a reasonably flat, quiet course. Although the turnout for this years race was quite small it would definitely be a good race to consider for any members looking to do a 10 miler next year.

Wroxham 5k Series Race 1
May 26th, 2010The near perfect running conditions tempted 14 Jaguars to the first of this annual 3 race series and once again an excellent set of results saw the club record broken by Mark Haynes, and another category win for Colin Robilliard. Jon Howe and Steve Ely in their first race for the club at this distance finished within seconds of each other with diamond and silver standards respectively and everyone seems to be reaping the benefits of their hard training as 7 runners completed the course in 20 minutes or under and 5 recorded personal bests. The closest battle of the day was between Ady Jay and Mel Porter who were neck and neck until the finish. Ady took this particular battle by 3 seconds to record his first ever gold standard. Although the 5k is short and very painful, all who took part were extremely grateful to the roadside encouragement from the other club members who turned up en masse to offer their support. The second race in the series is on the 23rd of June. Full Results Photos
