Latest News on Craig  (24th August) Becca has been in touch to let us know that Craig is doing well and is no longer in a coma but is at a very low level of consciousness.  It is thought he might be trying to communicate by blinking and squeezing.  He is starting to be weaned off his trache which will be very gradual. Visiting is still restricted to family and very close friends as over stimulation could shut him down again.  A  friend of  Becca is doing a run in honour of  Craig and if anyone would like to sponsor her they can go to  www.justgiving.com/Nicola-Wiles  All the funds raised will go to a local brain injury charity.

Club Standards

They apply to the following standard road race distances:  5K, 5M, 10K, 10M, 1/2 Marathon 15M, 20M and Full Marathon, but you don’t need to run all of these! To qualify, you need to equal or better the standard time for your age group. All you need is a copy of the official results as proof of your time.

The aim of the running club standards is to give each runner, regardless of ability, the motivation and the focus to train for a specific goal. Setting realistic and achievable standards within the club not only encourages a sense of fulfilment on achieving your target but will also hopefully motivate and inspire other athletes to do the same. You don’t have to be a Paula Radcliffe to achieve these standards, but you will have to train for them !!!!

We have one set of standard times for the open age category and one set for each 5-year veteran category.

Categories are as follows:-

Bronze (the easiest)    Silver    Gold    Diamond    Platinum (the hardest)
