Beccles Turkey Trot

The course and conditions for this 10 mile race certainly suited fast running and so it proved for Richard Bateson who in his first race for the club finished in 6th overall with a fantastic diamond standard time of 57.45. In the process he also took nearly 2 minutes from the club record previously held by Colin Robilliard. Slightly further back in the pack, Richard Collyer ran well for a new personal best of 1.13.55 (silver standard).

Norwich Half Marathon

One good thing about the weather for this years Half Marathon was that the sun came out just in time for the start, however the wind made this an extremely tough race with a few runners being blown off their feet or to a standstill in some of the more exposed sections of the course and just finishing the race was a major achievement. Clearly  the wind was no deterrent to 5 of the 15 Jaguars who took part with personal bests being run by Wayne Gibbs, Ellie Bye, Richard Collyer, Jackie Bye and Fiona Baldwin. Jackie Harrop ran the distance for the first time as a Jaguar. Performance of the day came from Colin Robilliard who once again was first Jaguar to cross the line, in the process taking first prize in his age category.

Norwich Park Run No. 117

Scott Chadwick ran another p.b. at the Norwich Park Run. He keeps chipping away every week and took a few more seconds off his time running 19.15.  Not far behind was Mark Harmer who took a chunk off  his time to run 19.23. Further up the field there was a club battle going on with Lawrence Wade (18.05) outrunning  Steve Bates (18.13). Keep up the speed work lads – it’s all paying off. Christine Cooke, who has just returned from a foot operation, managed to run a Park Run p.b. in 24.31.
